Biography

Devi Dayal Sharma (1935-2020) was the founding partner of the firm and practiced real estate and corporate law for several decades. He was a well-respected member of the community. Devi’s stellar reputation went beyond providing excellent legal advice and extended to exceptional service. Devi had a reputation for being an honest and likeable lawyer by his clients and his door was always open (even without an appointment).

Devi was Called to the Ontario Bar in 1994 and received his NCA accreditation from Osgoode Hall Law School. He received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from The Law College Jullundur, Punjab University, India in 1958. He was admitted to the Bar Council of Punjab and received his Certificate of Enrollment in 1962. Devi, his wife and three children immigrated to Canada from Amritsar, India in 1975. Devi and his wife Achla ran a successful real estate conveyancing business until he later re-qualified as a lawyer in Canada. His wife Achla continues to work at the firm.
